Private video folders: what to check before relying on one
A hidden file, an app lock and encryption solve different problems.
| Control | What it helps with | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Hidden collection | Reduces casual visibility in one interface | Whether another app, a backup or a file manager can see the file |
| PIN or biometric gate | Restricts access through the app screen | Whether files are encrypted at rest |
| Encryption | Protects data when implemented and managed correctly | The safety of unlocked playback, backups or key recovery |
| Device screen lock | Controls ordinary access to the phone | How copies are handled after sharing |
Ask before moving important files
- Are original files moved or copied?
- Can you export them again?
- What happens after uninstalling or clearing app data?
- Are backups included, and how are they protected?
- Is encryption documented and independently tested?
VidPik’s private folder
The public product showcase describes a protected area for selected saved media. This page does not claim audited encryption or guarantee recovery. Test import and export with a non-sensitive file and keep a separate backup.
